Professor of Mechanical Engineering in the School of Engineering (ISEP) of the Polytechnic of Porto. PhD in Industrial and Systems Engineering, Master's Degree in Industrial Engineering and Bachelor's Degree in Production Engineering – University of Minho. Awarded the title of Specialist in Quality Management by the Polytechnic Institute of Viana do Castelo. Researcher at LAETA – Associated Laboratory for Energy, Transports and Aeronautics (INEGI).

He is the Coordinator of Postgraduate Studies in Lean Six Sigma and the Coordinator of Postgraduate Studies in Six Sigma Black Belt & Digital Transformation. He previously held the positions of Quality Director and Production Director for a multinational company, and subsequently acted as a consultant for a number of organizations for a period of 16 years
