Freelance in Quality and Business Management for 3 years, Thierry Coutand has more than 35 years’ experience in civil and military aviation, in which 30 in quality management.
Within IAQG, Thierry Coutand is the European representative in the 9100 writing team since 2015, and the co-creator of AIMM, the Aerospace Maturity Improvement Model.
After 3 years as ISO9001 certification auditor within DNV, he worked for 21 years in Airbus commercial aircraft, endorsing various responsibilities such as Quality Manager of the IT department (1100 persons in 17 sites), Owner of the internal audit process (more than 500 audits per year), responsible of the EN9100 certification (around 800 persons involved per year worldwide), and responsible for the correct cascade of the EN9100 requirements within the Airbus processes.
Thierry Coutand has created and provided training and coaching to hundreds of people on many topics such as audits, maturity assessments, EN9100, ISO9001, process approach, risks & opportunities management, project management, Root Cause Analysis, Black Belt, Coach ICF, etc.
In the end, what he likes the most is to share his knowledge and passion for Quality Management, and to see the benefits it can provide to organizations that have understood its principle and apply them adequately.
